Yes Yes! For our last installment of the summer (we'll be back in October for our 2 Year Anniversary Bash!!) we've put together another family affair, this time blessed with a transatlantic influx and kinetic urban heat. For all you burners, here's a little pre-Playa session to to get you hyped for Black Rock City!
Sub Swara and Freek Factory Live square off for Round 2 of the ongoing bass-borough battle of the live soundsystems. The dubstep/future-dancehall/turn-tabla stylings of the Sub Swara live set meets the Balkan-laced/glitch-hopped/freestylinz of Free Factory Live. Plus, very special guest, Gabriel (Heatwave UK), will be swinging through from London to drop a guaranteed ace mix of dancehall/dub/roots hotness on NYC. (Check out a link to one of Heatwave's sick mixes at www.scandalbag.com/bestival).
And we've got something extra fresh to kick off the night as the Kinetic Junglist Movement blows open the doors with their signature jaw-dropping mix of African dance and Capoeira with an urban twist of Pop n' Lock, House, Vogue and Jungle dance.
Doors open at 9 PM on this one so get in early to take it all in and don't miss out on discounted advance tickets (available through www.brownpapertickets.com/event/17595 )!

Re: SS 021: Last one of the Summer! SS vs. Freek Factory Round 2
Mon, July 30, 2007 - 1:30 PMhola hola, freakers !
El Niño dropping in to get his ass shaken by deep bass ...
Did i hear Subswara AND Freek Factory are going to be emitting the high vibrations and dropping the low frequencies ??
Did i hear that an amazing dance troupe is opening the ball at 9 ?
OK, as promised a month ago, El Niño does deliver on the promises, and the Men In Hot Pants will be representing in full spandex glory.
Well, two of them at least , because you never know where Lowroad is going to be . Hence the proverbial interjection "Hey, where's Lowroad ?!". But i digress.
So, il will be in town, and you better come out and shake yo ass with me and Big Dawg, because it ain't every day i escape the Dirty South. So yeah, YOU YOU, and especially YOU, you are coming out lightly dressed this friday (no, it's not too hot. It's *never* too hot ! ) and celebrating the family reunion of bass, freeks, tablas, voices, laughters and smiles.
Now websites, tickets, all that stuff ; you know where to find it. I ain't to fricking promoter. I am a natural disaster, a force of nature, a vortex of love and energy and i tell you : you'll be spinning on the 3rd.
Be there.
